Multi-Court Scoreboard System: Run Every Court from One Dashboard

Managing the score on every court separately wears staff out in a venue with four, six or ten courts. A multi-court scoreboard system brings them into one dashboard.

A multi-court scoreboard system shows the live score of each court's match on that court's own TV, while the status of every court is visible from a single admin dashboard. In short, each court behaves like an independent scoreboard, but all of them are managed from one account. From a four-court padel club to a ten-court tennis academy, the more courts you have, the more this setup simplifies the work of your staff and the experience of your players. This article explains how it works, which jobs you can do from the dashboard and where to start. Our example system is our own Multi Score Screen multi-court scoreboard.

Why a separate board on every court is not enough

Many venues start by putting a separate electronic board or a paper flip card on each court. Once you pass two or three courts, the problems show: every device has its own remote, batteries run out or remotes go missing, reception has to walk out to see which match has finished, and on tournament days volunteers go from court to court copying scores onto paper. Because the boards know nothing about each other, there is never a picture of the whole venue.

Consistency is the other problem. Devices bought at different times look different, use different buttons and need separate training, and players meet a different interface every time they change court. With a multi-court scoreboard system every court uses the same design, the same referee panel and the same rules.

What you can do from one dashboard

In the Multi Score Screen admin panel you can do the following without walking from court to court:

  • Court status board: see at a glance whether each court is empty, occupied or reserved.
  • Per-court settings: set the sport, game mode, rental duration and cancellation notice for each court separately.
  • Automatic QR codes and PINs: each court's join QR code and PIN are generated automatically; players scan the code to join the match.
  • Reservation calendar: add, edit or cancel bookings, and filter the calendar by time and status.
  • Live control: correct player names, adjust the score and run matches from the panel when needed.
  • One login: every court is managed from a single club account, with no separate sign-ins.

Reception can see which court has just become free without leaving the desk and send waiting players straight there. A coach keeps the score of a lesson on their phone while the venue manager watches every court at once.

The spectator and player experience

In a multi-court venue, spectators are often thinking about another court: how is my friend's match going, when does the next one start? Scanning the QR code on any court's screen opens a live link to that match in the phone's browser, with no app to install. A parent sitting in the café can follow a child's match on a court at the other end of the building. When a match ends, a winner screen with the final set scores appears, and players like to take a photo of it and share it.

Sponsor control: which ad on which court?

More courts mean more advertising space. You upload sponsor images or videos once and choose which courts display them. During play a logo strip sits under the score; while a court is empty, the screen rotates full-screen sponsor ads together with a QR code the next players can use to join. You might reserve the centre court for your main sponsor and show local businesses on the others. Approved content joins the rotation automatically.

Better decisions with occupancy data

Standalone boards give you no data at all. A multi-court system reports reservation counts and occupancy by sport, and exports them as CSV with one click. That answers small but important questions: which courts sit empty on weekday evenings, is padel demand high enough to convert a tennis court, which hours deserve an off-peak offer? Decisions are based on real usage instead of guesswork.

Example: a busy evening at a six-court club

At 7 pm five of six courts are in use and one is reserved. Reception glances at the court status board and sees that court 3 is in its final set while court 5 has been empty for twenty minutes. The waiting pair is sent straight to court 5, they scan the QR code on the screen, enter the PIN and start scoring from their own phones. Meanwhile a coach on court 1 keeps the score of a private lesson on the phone in their pocket.

A parent in the café follows the junior match on court 2. When court 3 finishes, the winner screen appears, and a few minutes later the empty court switches to sponsor ads and a join QR code for the next players. At the end of the evening the manager downloads the booking and occupancy report as CSV and plans an offer for weekday slots after 9 pm. Nobody has had to walk from court to court asking for scores or hunting for a remote.

Where to start with the rollout

  1. Start with a pilot court: pick your busiest court, prepare its TV and use it in real matches for a week.
  2. Decide who scores: players can keep score in social games, a table official in league matches. We explain the referee panel in detail in our scorekeeping app article.
  3. Add courts step by step: once the pilot runs smoothly, add the other courts with the same settings; each court gets its own licence key by email.
  4. Pick the plan by court count: Pro covers up to 5 courts and Elite up to 10; for more courts or a lifetime licence there is Unlimited, priced per court.
  5. Rehearse a tournament day: before your first event, run several courts at the same time as a test. Our tournament bracket software guide covers the tournament flow.

Which sports does it cover?

On the Pro and Elite plans a court can switch between sports without a separate setup or login. Supported sports are padel, tennis, pickleball, badminton, squash, table tennis, volleyball and padbol. For general selection criteria see our scoreboard software buyer's guide, and for the current feature list the Multi Score Screen overview.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate phone or tablet for every court?

Whoever enters the score just needs a phone. Referees, table officials, coaches or players can use their own phones; no special device is required.

Can one court run tennis while another runs padel?

Yes. Each court's sport is set separately and every match is scored with the rules of its own sport. On Pro and Elite a court can also switch between sports.

How many courts can one account manage?

The Pro plan covers up to 5 courts and Elite up to 10. For more courts you can choose the Unlimited licence per court.

Can occupancy reports be exported?

Yes. Reservation counts and occupancy by sport can be downloaded as CSV with one click.
