Why boatyard job tracking no longer fits in a notebook and WhatsApp
When a boat comes in for service, it is never just one job. Engine maintenance, hull repair, electronics installation, painting and safety checks all run at the same time.

When a boat comes in for service, it is never just one job. Engine maintenance, hull repair, electronics installation, painting and safety checks all run at the same time. Keeping in your head which job is waiting for which, who is working where and when each part will arrive stops being possible at some point.
Familiar problems
- The answer to "is this job finished?" lives on one technician's phone.
- A delay during the busy pre-season goes unnoticed until the customer starts calling.
- A warranty part sent to a supplier is forgotten for months.
- When a customer asks about a line in the quote, it takes half an hour to find the file.
A small change, a big difference
In Karina, a service file is opened for each boat, the work is split into work orders by section, and every work order has its own checklist, owner and planned date. Dependencies show up on the Gantt screen: painting cannot start until the hull repair is done. When a job runs past its plan, the person responsible gets a "this job is late" notification; the morning summary also gets today's jobs and the late ones to the team.
Parts, serial numbers, warranty
When a plotter or an inverter is fitted to a boat, its serial number is recorded and the warranty start date is created automatically. If the part fails, it is sent to the supplier; the dispatch date, tracking number and expected return date are tracked. A part that does not come back is marked as overdue on the screen and added to the morning summary.
Keep your data with you
Karina runs on your own server. It takes an automatic backup every day and checks that the backup is sound. You can keep working even when the internet drops in the workshop.
Where to start?
Start with work orders and planning only; turn on the stock, warranty and quote modules as the team gets used to it. With the 15-day trial you can try it with your own data.
